A Little Trip to Mykonos: Introducing Souvlaki GR LES

January in New York typically brings unsightly forms of snow-slush, and faraway fantasies of a tropical island getaway.  While we all can't jet-set off to, say, the Greek Isles at the moment, we can bring a little taste of that ocean blue through delicious bites by our newest restaurant partner: Souvlaki GR LES

Pipperies Gemistes (Greek Stuffed Peppers)

This festive and beloved taverna on the corner of Stanton and Essex Streets features one of NYC's only authentic Greek Souvlaki. This "hamburger of Greece" is full of mouth-watering charcoal-grilled meat, wrapped round and round in a gooey, warm pita with the must-haves of tzatziki, tomato, onion and french fries.  Just mmm-good simple, fresh ingredients.  Health nuts will also appreciate the solid greek salads, grilled skewers, and traditional dips like the Spicy Feta that'll make you say “Yassou” faster than cousin Dimitrios.
